FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Calling all Australian bookcrossers!!! BYOkids needs you!!! We are turning
Australia\'s cities, beaches, mountains and outback into a library on Saturday,
October the 21st, 2006. We need all Australians to be involved in an attempt to
break the current record for \"Australia\'s biggest bookcrossing release in one day\".

So what is bookcrossing?
Bookcrossing my friends, is the karma of literature. It\'s all about reading a book
then setting it free, letting it go into the wild to be shared and enjoyed time and
time again. Bookcrossing began in 2001 when Ron Hornbaker launched
www.bookcrossing.com an internet site where books get logged and tracked. You can
follow a books travels around the neighbourhood or across the globe.

Bookcrossing has nearly half a million members worldwide, tens of thousands in
Australia and the word \"bookcrossing\" was officially added to the Concise Oxford
English Dictionary in 2004.

The challenge is being coordinated by www.byokids.com.au ....your family travel
gurus. BYOkids want travellers everywhere to be able to pick up a book at a bus
shelter, cafe, laundromat, beside the pool, beach or at the park.
www.byokids.com.au is an information website that helps families plan the perfect
holiday. They track down family friendly destinations, accommodation, attractions,
restaurants, caravan parks and playgrounds throughout Australia. As long time
supporters of bookcrossing, BYOkids is spreading the work downunder to see that the
current Australian one day bookcrossing release record of 750 books is broken. The
release challenge also coincides with the Australian bookcrossing convention being
held in Adelaide.

Leah Squire owner of www.byokids.com.au said \"We\'re excited about the response from
bookcrossers Australia wide, however we still need more people on board. We don\'t
just want to break the record we want to smash it. Bookcrossing headquarters in
America are very excited too. Anyone is welcome to participate. They just need to
log onto www.bookcrossing.com and register the books they wish to release into the
wild. They need to make sure the release date is 21st October, 2006 then on the day
leave the book at a local park, shop, cafe, bus stop or even pass to a friend.
Every book registered online will be counted in the record attempt. If people are
unsure of what they need to do, its very simple and fun, they can get together as a
group or just release books on their own. They are welcome to contact us and we\'ll
be more than happy to answer their questions\"
BYOkids would like to hear from book lovers, bookcrossers, school groups, community
groups, families or individuals that would like to be involved in the record
attempt. Everyone is welcome to participate in their local area, so dust off those
old books, ID them online and get ready to release wildly on October 21st, 2006.
